Taylor grew up camping and hiking in the Shawnee National Forest, developing a bond with the Shawnee hills at an early age. He got his first digital camera in highschool and began taking snapshots while hiking to share with others. Over time this hobby grew into a passion to capture the scenic beauty found in Southern Illinois.
“I am passionate about photographing the often overlooked natural beauty found in this region. I hope that my photography will inspire people to get out, explore, and realize the importance of protecting and preserving our natural resources.”
Taylor’s photos have been used in a variety of media ranging from local advertising & tourism to national publications. His work has received several awards, including various internet photo contests and Best in Show at Cache River Nature Fest and Best in Show at Herrinfesta Italiana’s 2010 Art Exhibit.
